LSD ride 2hrs

Dec. 13

Post-workout summary:

Duration: 2hrs

My 2-hr Z2 ride was fine. RPE was probably at RPE 4.

Threshold Test 40 min

Dec. 11 - After a tri season, my TH on bike has changed quite a bit. So, I was asked to do one to set it up for the 2010 RAAM training.

Post-test summary:

Duration: 40 mins

Avg: 22.8mph; 92 CAD; 164 HR ; 169 watts

Max: 27.8mph; 112 CAD; 171 HR ; 295 watts

Two dips occurred at 18 min. and 30 min. markers where the CAD and watts went up and down for 30 seconds. The rest was steady.

Training/TEST

In the last 6.5 years of tri-focused (non-winter season) and xc skiing-focused (winter season) endurance training, I remember I managed to test myself twice -- MAX HR TEST. But that's just me -- patentably training/racing, a term I "borrowed" from a colleague of mine who competes in a Roller Derby team -- she called herself being "patentably offensive"). There we go, we have something in common, yes -- we both are in the PATENT business.

On Dec. 10, I conducted my first MAX HR test:

Duration (riding on a trainer): 9 minutes 32 seconds
MAX speed: 28.6 MPH
CAD: 115
MAX: 177
WATT: 297

Fundraising mission: corp sponsors, individual donors

Economy has ever been worse than what we are living in, and our training economists/genius futurists have not been able to provide us any light in the tunnel to a prosperous future. Many people's jobs were taken away, and many others' are being threatened to lose their jobs day-in and day-out. The only things left with us are our untouchable spirits and forever-young smiles -- whatever is there to challenge us, we know deep in our heart that we are blessed.

Often, "fundraising" does not mean simply donating money. Tangible or intangible "fundraising" in a mission you believe in can come from any angle of support. We are all encouraged to take a close look at traditional as well as alternative ways to support Camp Odayin kids.

My pledge in RAAM2010 solo to Camp Odayin kids is to help them in many different ways: giving presentations, organizing a sporting event, assisting in putting up a kids educational program, etc., as well as donating funds. I'd love to have you in this great journey ahead. amy

crew and crew chief

Without the supporters who believe in your RAAM mission for Camp Odayin, I won't be even thinking about doing it. Back in 2008, our 4-person Team Strong Heart had 6 crew members (family members of Rotaches, friends of Silbernick, Thompson and Xu) and an unbelieveable group of supporters in the communities.

On Dec. 7, one of our 2008 crew chiefs, Sandy Roman, decided to become one of my crew chiefs for TSH/RAAM2010 solo. Overcoming from cancer which was diagnosed a month before our 2008 race (which Sandy kept to herself until the 2008 race was over), Sandy once again joined me on this journey. Sandy, thank you and I'm very proud of you. I'll need your inspiration to get it done! amy

Training plans and logs

In 2008, our 4-person team serious training started in May. I realize that in 2010 I will no longer be able to rely on my great teammates on the course, and I have 6-months to the start line. A training plan is now set. amy

Started riding with LSC group in 2006

JayT snapped the photo after I got up one of those training hills in St. Paul, MN -- I'll remember to smile after I climb those zillions of RAAM hills.

Hello

On Nov. 27, 2009, officially, I registered as a solo racer under Team Strong Heart/RAAM2010, to continue the mission to support Camp Odayin kids who suffer various cardiovascular diseases.

The journey started on Nov. 27, 2009. amy
